Privacy Policy

PostDose ("we," "us") provides a meal-planning app for iOS. This policy describes what information the app handles, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The short version: we don't require an account, we don't sell your data for money, and your health-related inputs — your medication, weight, symptoms, meal photos, and quiz answers — are never sold or shared with advertising or analytics companies. We do use Apple's privacy-preserving ad-attribution tools and, only if you allow tracking, Meta's mobile measurement SDK to understand which ads bring people to PostDose. The details are below.
Information you provide
During setup, the app asks for inputs used to personalize your meal plan, such as:
- Age, sex, height, and weight, and your goal weight and target date
- Medication type and week-of-dose information, if you choose to share it
- Appetite changes, side effects, food preferences, and planning goals
These inputs are used to generate your meal plans, recipes, grocery lists, and in-app insights. You can use the app without providing any information that identifies you by name.
How your information is handled
- Anonymous identity. The app signs you in anonymously using Firebase Authentication (a Google service). You are identified by a random ID, not by name, email, or phone number.
- Plan generation. Your setup inputs and any meal photos you submit are sent to our backend (Google Firebase Cloud Functions, which uses OpenAI to generate meal suggestions), then returned to your device. Your plan data lives on your device.
- Service providers. We use the following companies to operate the app. They process data on our behalf or, where noted, as independent recipients for ad measurement:
- Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Functions) operates our app backend, including anonymous sign-in and meal-plan generation. Google processes this data under its data processing terms.
- OpenAI processes your setup inputs and meal photos, on our behalf and through our backend, to generate meal suggestions. It does not use this data to train its models.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. receives a limited set of ad-measurement signals through the Meta (Facebook) SDK, as described in "Advertising and analytics" below. Meta uses data it receives from apps under its Privacy Policy and Business Tools Terms.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment card details. When you complete a subscription, the app reports the purchase amount and currency to Meta as part of the ad-measurement signals described below; this lets us measure which ads lead to subscriptions. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings.
Advertising and analytics
The app uses two ad-measurement tools so we can understand which ads bring people to PostDose and improve them. We do not show ads inside the app, and we do not build advertising profiles about you from your health data.
Apple SKAdNetwork
If you arrived via an ad, attribution is also measured using Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports aggregate, privacy-preserving campaign numbers to the ad platform — without your identity and without any of your health-related inputs.
Meta (Facebook) SDK
The app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK, a mobile measurement tool from Meta Platforms, Inc., to help us measure and optimize our advertising. Here is exactly what it does:
- Advertising identifier (IDFA). The Meta SDK collects your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, which appears at the paywall. If you decline, the IDFA is not collected and is not sent to Meta.
- App-activity events we send to Meta. A small set of generic events that tell us where people are in the signup flow: app open / activation, onboarding completed, paywall viewed, subscribe tapped, and activation completed. On a completed subscription, we also send the purchase amount and currency. These events carry no health or profile information about you.
- What we never send to Meta. We do not send Meta your name, your medication type or dose, your weight or goal, your symptoms or appetite changes, your meal photos, your quiz or onboarding answers, or your anonymous Firebase ID. None of your health-related inputs are shared with Meta or used for advertising — those inputs go only to our own backend (Google Firebase and OpenAI) to build your meal plans. The events we send to Meta do not name any medication, condition, or health status. We may analyze your inputs for our own internal product analytics (for example, to see where people drop off during setup), but that analysis happens only on our own backend and is never sent to any outside advertising or analytics company.
The purpose of the Meta SDK is advertising attribution, measurement, and ad-campaign optimization.
Your tracking choices
- When you reach the paywall, iOS shows you the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," the Meta SDK does not collect your IDFA and cannot use it to match you across apps.
- You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and you can turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" entirely to stop IDFA-based tracking for all apps.
- Regardless of your tracking choice, your health-related inputs are never shared with Meta.
Your choices and data deletion
- You can edit or remove your setup inputs in the app at any time.
- Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device.
- To request deletion of any data associated with your anonymous ID on our backend, email support@postdoseapp.com and we will complete the request within 30 days.
Washington consumer health data
If you are a Washington resident, the health-related inputs you provide (such as medication, weight, and symptoms) are "consumer health data" under Washington's My Health My Data Act. We collect this data only to generate your meal plans, we keep it within our own backend (Google Firebase and OpenAI), and we do not sell or share it with Meta or any other advertising company. Children
PostDose is intended for adults 18 and older and is not directed at children.

Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
